Carpe RevPAR

After starting the revenue management program at a large short-term rental company and raising year-over-year revenue by 28% (check the series B pitch decks), I wanted to dive into every challenge, nuance, and innovation there was in the vacation rental industry. So, in 2019, I founded RevPARTY.

Founding RevPARTY allowed me to do just that. I was able to help dozens of clients around the world improve their revenue management. Moreover, because revenue management was still an emerging trend in vacation rentals and not an established core competency, I was able to broaden my scope, implement innovative solutions, and hone my skills not on one optimized portfolio but many portfolios with potential.

RevPARTY truly was an incredible moment in my career.

But eventually, opportunity came knocking and I had to answer the call. As many of you may know, in September of 2021 RevPARTY shuttered its doors. I did so to join Expedia Group and found Vrbo’s first vacation rental revenue management team. My time at Vrbo was amazing. I was able to focus on making property managers more money, integrating revenue management considerations into Expedia Group business practices, and developing software tools and tactical techniques that anyone could deploy anywhere to increase their revenue. If you’ve never tried to come up with solutions that work for 7,000,000 properties, you should try it … its super fun.

There was always something that nagged me though. Most revenue managers are tasked with maximizing revenue for a particular portfolio. Most software companies are tasked with maximizing SaaS revenues or improving the overall UX for their target user. And every role is ties to very specific outcomes which don’t encourage revenue professionals to think outside the box. Quite honestly, no matter who you ask you’re unlikely to find someone that’s trying to add more work to their day. Inevitably, much in the revenue management space has become stagnant. I want to move it forward.

That’s why, after many early mornings and long nights, I’ve decided to relaunch RevPARTY! Just like before we’ll still focus on revenue management and data analytics but with extended offerings to anything revenue or data adjacent. Beyond our prior project-based engagements, we are now also offering full revenue management as a service (RMaaS).

Relaunching RevPARTY allows me to still help property managers make more money and further discover solutions in complex situations and push the envelope on everything revenue management. To that end, we have may partnerships and collaborations of every sort we’ll be announcing soon that will help us set the standard for revenue maximization.

For now, I’m extremely excited to officially relaunch RevPARTY and start engaging with partners again in the vacation rental industry. A few years ago, RevPARTY was just trying to establish product-market fit. This time around, RevPARTY will execute a grander revenue management vision. I hope to work with many of you in doing so.

Thanks!
